The planners at M-Group have real world experience crafting and implementing General Plans, Zoning Codes, Design Guidelines, Area Plans and Precise Plans that help communities achieve their goals.
General Plan Updates are a major opportunity for a City and its community to shape policy direction in a way that is visionary and implementable. Our approach is one of listening, educating, and translating the hopes and dreams of the community into cohesive policy direction.
In the most recent Housing Element cycle, M-Group worked throughout the Bay Area, engaged in ten Housing Elements. This planning effort encompassed nearly 15,000 housing units.
We emphasize local knowledge and technical expertise in undertaking successful comprehensive zoning ordinance updates. A zoning ordinance must reflect community vision- the unique goals, values and special conditions of each City and implement the General Plan.
We strive to be forward thinking, utilize what works, and create sustainable cities. At the end of the process we want a "living document" that citizens can identify with and understand, and which proves useful in the day-to-day operations of the City. We work with staff, decision makers, and the community to engage in a collaborative planning effort throughout the policy planning process.
